Gift cards
Gift cards as a way to drive new user growth at Turo
Resolving an imbalance in supply and demand at Turo
Coming out of the rental car crunch, when travelers were even booking U-Haul trucks to get around Hawaii, Turo focused heavily on boosting supply by increasing the number of host-listed cars on the marketplace. Over time, an imbalance emerged as supply outpaced demand from new guests. To increase new guest usage, we launched several acquisition initiatives, including the reintroduction of gift cards.
Outcome: I led design that enabled Turo to have a secure and modern gift card program. We solved for fraud and now see $1.5M/month in revenue. This was also one of our lowest CAC initiatives.
Monthly installment
Introducing flexible monthly payments at Turo
Guest abandoned longer duration trip checkout due to high upfront cost, as flexible payment options like month-to-month plans were not yet offered
Turo excelled at shorter trips but had a significant gap in long-duration bookings. Long-duration trips, also known as flexible car access, represent one of Turo’s largest addressable markets with clear product traction because they generate higher revenue and profitability. However, these trips convert at lower rates due to high pricing and a lack of payment flexibility.
Outcome: Launched monthly payments and saw a 9% growth in net revenue for the multi-month trip segment

Hackathon
Pitching comparison shopping on Turo
As part of a company wide hackathon I partnered with an engineer to rapidly prototype a working proof of concept to pitch to the company
Turo's Guest domain was newly reformed and I led an effort to drive innovation by submitting a hackathon project that was presented to the company. Selected projects would make it into the upcoming roadmaps.
